Igor Stravinsky, Symphony of Psalms

Special guests, the Southern California Mormon Choir join the AVSOMC to present two 20th century Masterworks. Maurice Duruflé's sensuous Requiem reworks Gregorian chant into an impressionistic wonderland of sound. Inspired by his publisher's request for a "popular" composition, Igor Stravinsky crafted a work that is both timely and timeless. Symphony of Psalms pulses with intensity, combining driving rhythms and moments when time seems to stand still.
